The 1978 Fleetwood Eldorado represented the final traditionally-sized luxury car built by Cadillac. All of Cadillac's other models had been down sized in 1977.
For 1978, the Biarritz option added a convertible-like padded vinyl top, unique script, body chrome moldings, and accent stripes. The customization continued on the interior, with Sierra Grain leather contoured pillow-style seats in a variety of colors including white, dark carmine, antique yellow, antique light blue, or antique medium saddle. Five exterior colors were available including Cotillion White, Mediterranean Blue Firemist, Carmine Red, Colonial Yellow, and Ruidoso Saddle.
